AN EXPERIENCED ANIMATION PRODUCER

Bento Box Entertainment is looking for a super star Animation Producer!

 

Location: North Hollywood, CA

The ideal candidate is a supreme organizer with a proactive eye that can see a problem coming before it gets there. You are a quick-thinking and flexible juggler able to handle multiple responsibilities within a constantly changing environment. You possess a strong ability to lead a group of diverse personalities, keeping them motivated when schedules get tough. You have laser sharp focus and an unwavering attention to detail at all times. Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, test, interview potential staff to help build an awesome team

  • Responsible for show set-up, office, and equipment

  • Oversee production team and manage all departments including production staff, storyboard, design, retake animation and post

  • Strive to maintain the creative vision and high level quality control

  • Serve as the main point of contact between the production team and the network

  • Understand all departments and work closely with managers and supervisors to problem solve and maintain department schedules

  • Create production calendar and directly supervise the day-to-day workload of the production team

  • Project and troubleshoot potential problems or issues within the production

  • Schedule daily/weekly workflow in order to meet all deadlines

  • Lead all production meetings including kick-off meetings, design reviews, and storyboard reviews

  • Oversee legal tracking and clearance for all scripts/dialogue and designs, including both internal and client/network notes

  • Review through post at all phases of production: confirm all network, legal, standards, and executive producer notes have been addressed

  • Manage weekly payroll: tracking crew and artist hours, approving overtime, timecard approval and reporting to accounting department

  • Review cost reports weekly with finance team

  • Liaise with animation studios and oversee agreements

  • Vet,  negotiate, oversee vendors

  • Main point of contact between network marketing and publicity departments to prepare show release

 

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience producing animation, with emphasis on 2D animation and a thorough understanding of a 2D production pipeline from development to post production

  • Strong connections within the animation community and a pocket full of talent

  • Outstanding people skills: ability to guide a unique group of creative staff

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills

  • Must be able to adapt to changes easily within a highly dynamic environment, including the management of the team within this environment

  • Strong attention to detail is critical

  • Knowledge of Toon Boom Harmony, Storyboard Pro, Excel, and Photoshop

Responsibilities:

  • Refine and amplify early concept design to bring unique look to the characters and the world

  • Review portfolios with Producer and interview and/or test artists to assemble a superstar design team

  • Serve as the main point of contact between the Executive Producers and the production team, seeing through the creative vision for each script

  • Read scripts and be familiar with story and jokes

  • Break down script and prepare for hand out to Design team

The Production Supervisor reports to the Production Manager, AP (if applicable) and the Producer. They are responsible for managing the Pre Production digital process from commencement thru ship.

  • Oversee the tracking of digital Storyboard files

Position Starting: January 2020

 

Location: Burbank, CA

 

The Production Manager reports to the AP (if applicable) and the Producer. They are responsible for tracking the Pre-Production process from start to shipping.

 

Duties to include but not limited to:

  • Track production work flow by monitoring steps of the process

  • Track production schedule throughout Pre Production pipeline

  • Maintain clarity of information and good channels of communication between the AP and Producer

  • Resolves problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action to AP/Producer

  • Maintain high company standards

  • Maintain schedule and budget

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge

  • Maintains working relationship with the union by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

  • Participate in all animatic edit sessions to support the Executive Producers, hearing their notes and seeing the storyboard/animatic through to completion

  • Review take 1 animation footage, call retakes, do draw-overs or new storyboards and provide reference as needed for retake process

  • Oversee retake animation team, giving feedback and notes until shots are approved

  • Attend all color edit sessions, work with editor to place temp music and sound effects, guide edited cut through to locked picture

  • Participate in music & sound design spotting sessions, mixes if requested

 

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience directing in episodic series television, preferably in kids

  • Knowledge of 2D animation and a thorough understanding of a 2D production pipeline from development to post production

  • Knowledge of Storyboard Pro, and Photoshop. Toon Boom Harmony knowledge is a plus

  • Comfortable working digitally on a Cintiq

  • Must be able to time storyboards to dialogue tracks

  • Outstanding people skills: ability to guide a unique group of creative staff

DESIGN COORDINATORS

The ideal candidate is detail oriented any hyper vigilant! Must have prior experience design coordinating for a 2d series. This job requires a sharp eye and the ability to quickly change and adapt to the unique needs of the production. Responsibilities:

  • Breakdown scripts/storyboards at each phase

  • Maintain Filemaker database with up to date designs, revisions, and notes

  • Manage artist assignments and prioritize when needed

  • Daily retrieval of new & revised designs, circulate for notes & approvals

  • Alert PM if any artist or department is in danger of missing a deadline

  • Update Directors daily on design changes / issues

  • Make sure artists have updated scripts & reference materials as needed

  • Pull incidentals for approved use

  • Pull photo reference for design kick-off

  • Prep design packs for storyboard kick-off meeting

  • Attend design reviews, take notes, pass notes to artists

  • Coordinate with AP on designs in need of legal / S&P approval

  • Leadsheet creation and maintenance

  • Prep files for shipping and upload to FTP

  • Research design questions from Animation Studio
